Uses the poetry of Jalaluddin Rumi, a 13th century Persian mystic, to inspire and build new connections and understandings between people in the US and the Middle East. When UNESCO declared 2007 as ‘the year of Rumi’, they were recognizing Rumi’s contributions as an advocate of inter-faith tolerance and respect. This ‘gathering of lovers’ presents a gathering of Rumi scholars, musicians, dervishes, and others Sufi practitioners from Turkey, Iran, Europe and the US.
