27th anniversary. WOW has it been that long.. Thanks for the heads up, Gonna watch it now just because its the 27th anniversary. Thanks,, When it came out,, IT was freaking awesome movie :) We all sat around smoking a bunch of fattys and turned on the movie :) Now I feel old again LOL :)

Geogenesis 7 points 3 years ago. 5/5 stars.

You’re a Dark Elf from Menzoberranzan, 27 years should not make you feel old. lol. :)

Drizzt 6 points 3 years ago.

You would think, But the Wizards, with the help of Matron Baenre and the Spider Queen(doctors)got to me :) LOL. Guenhwyvar showed up a little late!

Canuckian 5 points 3 years ago*.

But your wife Cattie-Brie became quite the powerful Sorceress, in BOTH incarnations ;) Surely she could do something to counterract Baenre’s (or Gromphs!) machinations! and Guenwhyvar is NEVER late, Drizzt Do’Urden, she arrives PRECISELY when she means too…hehehe ;) Would love to talk Forgotten Realms with you sometime bro, huge fan of Drizzt and the Realms here and don’t meet many who know the Realms lol. Cheers! (did you read the new Drizzt books btw starting with The Companions?

Drizzt 6 points 3 years ago.

There is something eerie about watching an actors final role. They were alive and now they are…Not. Such is the case with this movie, Brandon Lee, son of Hollywood legend Bruce Lee -we all know the story, was accidentally shot while filming this movie. I have only seen this movie with Brandon in it but it was a scary, but also powerful movie, not for the faint of heart

Geogenesis 5 points 3 years ago. 5/5 stars.

27th anniversary. This movie is a masterpiece that needs to be viewed at least once by everyone.

Thanks for the reminder as well. I do frequently enjoy revisiting this classic.
Once done, I usually watch the short-lived TV Series, starring Mark Dacascos, who also does an amazing job as The Crow.

No better movie to watch on ‘Devils Night’ Than this. Very underrated movie for its time. Never gets old.

BruceLeeFan88 3 points 3 years ago.

Simply one of the best. A much more admirable character than that Joker that hangs around……..

DanoJones47 3 points 3 years ago.

I fully agree with all of these comments, and will be honoring the 27th anniversary, by watching Brandon Lee one more time!

A classic never goes out of style! A beautiful dark film.

first time theCure was used in a major motion picture soundtrack & it almost caused a scandal…. the world has changed.

ObserverMI 1 points 3 years ago. 4/5 stars.

Many films sadly don’t age well. This is Not one of those.

Fugitive 1 points 6 months ago. 5/5 stars.

Just decided to rewatch this and i enjoyed every bit of it before the 2024 film is available in HD…. 30 Years Anniversery

ShugarCat 1 points 3 years ago*. 5/5 stars.

This was an excellent watch. I never got to see it in the theater so this was a first time view for me. I was extremely surprised with the quality of production, the story, the writing, directing and acting. Worthy of at several re-watches.

tapwater -3 points 3 years ago*. 3/5 stars.

Since when is a 27th anniversary something to celebrate? It’s a decent movie but it is mostly style over substance, Brandon and his charisma carried it and if he hadn’t died it would be remembered as that Tim Burton rip-off he was in before he went on to bigger and better things. All it does for me now is bring back memories of a bunch of poseurs pretending to know about Joy Division and switching from flannel to eyeliner… Fun fact; Shannon Lee (Brandon’s sis) briefly sang for the band Medicine (Time Baby II/III from the soundtrack)

ivannavatch 6 points 3 years ago.

Pretty jaded view. when i was a kid this movie blew us all away. I rewatched it and it’s still awesome. I don’t agree with your Tim Burton equasion either, The Crow is not whimsical at all. Plus I for one celebrate my birthday every year. 27 was an awesome one and none of the guys was wearing flannel or eyeliner ;)

tapwater 2 points 3 years ago*. 3/5 stars.

I like the movie people, I just have a another perspective on it. 3/5 stars is high marks for me

I have no idea what that last sentence is supposed to mean but I literally knew people that changed their ‘style’ from grunge to goth almost overnight because of this film.

A birthday is quite different than the anniversary of a movie, give it 3 years and buy the 16K commemorative edition along with much better movies like The Professional, Shawshank, Pulp Fiction, Shallow Grave, and Lion King that came out same year

I don’t think he intentionally ripped anybody off but aesthetically, the directors’ eyes for color are quite similar. Proyas wasn’t original was the point of that statement. Where is he now and who cares? ‘Dark City’ https://www.primewire.ag/movie/256945-watch-dark-city is even more visually inventive than this but no one talks about it today. If it was led by someone half as charismatic as Brandon, we might be especially if said person died while filming is a further point. Last point is that Proyas, while having a good eye, has no idea how to tell a story; he even ruined ‘I, Robot’ https://www.primewire.ag/movie/751425-watch-i-robot which is an adaptation of a compilation of 9 or 10 stories by one of the greatest Sci-Fi authors ever, Isaac Asimov.
