Mel Brooks send up of Errol Flynn type Robin Hood flicks with Cary as Robin & John Ritter’s widow Amy Yasbeck as Maid Marion. Has a young Chappell as well as Richard Lewis, Dom Deluise & Mel himself as Rabbi Tuckman. Hilarious.

No, it’s a direct piss-take of the Kevin Costner film.

random000 2 points 1 year ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

It’s Errol Flynn & Prince of Thieves both.
The entire feast scene is shot for shot right out of Errol Flynn with Basil Rathbone, not Costner. Other parts of it do have elements of the Costner film since that was the most recent spin on the tale, but Mel Brooks was paying tribute to the older film same as he did with High Anxiety & Young Frankenstein.

Anything Costner does is always a piss-take of itself.
