This is an entry in Vitaphone’s series of “Your True Adventures”, featuring radio commentator and WWI war-correspondent Floyd Gibbons telling a tale written by one of the many amateur writers who submitted a story that would be made into one of the many two-reel shorts in this series. The authors, and this entries writer wasn’t the first one, would “win” (read, be paid)$500 for their ‘true-life adventure.” This one was playing as a filler on the bill at NYC’s Rialto Theatre on November 26th, 1937. The feature film being shown was Monogram’s 1937 “Danger Patrol,” starring Harry Carey, Sally Eilers and John Beal. |
