The Mayor of a small town strikes down the long-standing law of no Sunday shopping. Businesses, etc. rejoice but the Mayor is caught off guard by the backlash from others and their belief that Sundays should be special. When a massive storm knocks all power out on one Sunday, the Mayor heads home from the office early. There he finds his neighborhood and family interacting and enjoying the day like he’d never seen. Deciding now that there is something special about this day, he must fight to re-instate the law.
