This was the movie that was supposed to be HUGE…pairing two of the biggest names in action (and comedy) from the 60ies/70ies era (It was like pairing up Arnold Schwarzenegger & Sylvester Stallone at the height of their 80ies/90ies era movie careers back in the day). Unfortunately this one was just mediocre..it was also the film where Burt Reynolds ended up having his jaw broken (by accident) during the filming of a fight scene which caused him serious health problems due to having his jaw wired shut, he lost a lot of weight and rumors began to circulate that he was either addicted to drugs or had AIDS at the time..neight of which were true.
Thankfully Reynolds was able to recover from both the injury and had a second go at a movie career in the 90ies with such films as “Striptease” and “Boogienights”
