Details:

A short documentary film about how two women’s paths unexpectedly crossed, over divides of culture, race, politics and music Before she became the US attorney general under president Bill Clinton in 1993, Janet Reno was the state attorney for Miami-Dade county, Florida. And it’s here that her career became significantly intertwined with one of the first female Miami bass rappers, Anquette. This film tells the story from the ‘Janet Reno’ rap record to rival politician Jack Thompson’s crusade against obscenity their connection to Luke Skyywalker Records’ infamous battle with the US Supreme Court. The film follows Anquette’s obscure musical comeback in the 90’s, Janet Reno’s own foray into the music industry(!) in the 2000s and her heroic struggle against Parkinson’s disease that continues to this day. Rap ‘N’ Reno documents the forgotten history of two uniquely American women and their commitment to justice and good music.
