All the details for Sarah’s arranged marriage have been settled. Aside to her mothers terminal illness, she is now about to go through the religious rituals of becoming a “Kosher Jewish bride”. Among those rituals are the Mikvah; a cleansing and purifying ritual, Kallah (bride) classes and the ritual of cutting her long straight beautiful hair short; a ritual which after she will need to cover her head with a wig so to avoid tempting any other men than her husband. The film follows her as she is struggling to bridge these cultural requirements with her feelings, whilst realizing that the one person she would be doing it all for will soon not be there anymore. |
