A look into the second class treatment of disabled customers in cinemas. Subjected to painful seating, segregated, ostracised socially and branded ‘fire hazards’, many disabled customers are not shown the same basic service that is their legal right. They are so often treated like a nuisance, taking up the time and effort of cinema exhibitors, when all they want is the same opportunities to be entertained as anyone else. Often it is un-noticeable to the general able-bodied public, but we hope that ‘Lights, Camera, Access’ acts as a warning, and a stimulus for change. |
