Raniya, a young woman who lives in the whirlwind of her repetitive daily life. With a disorderly memory and a suffocating present, she discovers that there is something wrong with her life, something she does not understand. She decides to go in search of her true personality.
Synopsis
Raniya is a young woman whose memory is deficient and doesn’t remember her past. She lives an endless daily routine, surrounded by people she thinks she knows; a nurse who is just bringing her medicine, and an insufferable monster-like guard.
Raniya is married to Omar, a man often absent because of his work. This absence is the source of the disputes between him and Raniya because she suspects him of cheating on her, which is true, because Omar has a love affair with Hafida, a young singer in the city bar.
Days are similar in Raniya’s life. Waking up in the morning to take her medication, waiting for her husband to leave and going out to collect him in the bar. On her way, Raniya often stops at the roadblock of the gendarmerie to see Halim, a gendarme who has feelings for her. Raniya avoids these feelings, but Halim insists on seeing her telling her that he is waiting for her call and that he remains hopeful, except that Raniya reminds him of her situation and asks him to be patient.
On her way, Raniya always stops by a gas station to see the only person she trusts and feels safe with. Charqi, a wise man who provides Raniya with a lot of good feelings and gives her hope.
At the end of her journey, Raniya arrives at the city bar to look for her husband Omar. She harasses Hafida but the latter denies that she knows him. Raniya does not believe her and threatens her,
When Rania arrives home and can’t find Omar, she tries to call him , but no answer. She doesn’t know what to do. Lâayachi asks her about Omar, but Raniya chases him. In the middle of the night Omar arrives, exhausted and only wants to sleep. Rania harasses him with and asks him to tell her the truth. Omar tells her that he doesn’t know what she is talking about and that he has been at work all day. Raniya continues to mistreat him and pushes him aggressively, Omar ends up by slapping her. The two get into a fight, Raniya ends up throwing him down from the top of the stairs. Omar does not move anymore, he is dead. Fearfull, Raniya pulls Omar’s body down to the basement and puts it in the fridge and goes upstairs to sleep in her room.
In the morning, Raniya wakes up again. Same pace, same routine. The nurse brings her medication and prepares her breakfast as usual. Raniya takes the opportunity of the nurse’s absence and goes down to the basement to see Omar’s body. To her surprise, the refrigerator is empty. She goes back frightened in the living room and realizes that the photos of her and Omar are no longer at their place, she does not understand anything. She goes back to her room, no more photos of Omar, or even his clothes in the closet. She is losing her mind. The nurse came and asks her what’s going on, Raniya asks her about Omar’s belongings. The nurse, astonished, asks who’s Omar? Raniya answers: my husband. The nurse tells her that she has never been married.
Panicked, Raniya doesn’t know what to think. She runs away and leaves her house trying to gather her thoughts. She goes straight to the station to find Charqi too tell him what’s going on, but she can’t find him. Halim who was passing by saw her and headed towards her. He noticed that she was lost and disoriented and asks her what’s going on. Raniya tells him about her husband, Halim doesn’t understand anything and gets angry. Halim tells Raniya that they were together before, and after the death of her parents in a car accident, she moved away and he followed her to take care of her. Raniya is in shock and doesn’t know what to believe..
On her way home, Raniya tries to gather her memory. She strives to recall her memories. She just has flashes of people she seems to know but doesn’t remember them. her life turns into hell. The nurse brings her medicine to calm her down, but Raniya does not take them.
Raniya believes there is something wrong with her. The fact that she doesn’t take her medication awakens some deep buried memories. Raniya runs to Charqi and spits everything she has just remembered. At that time, we discover Driss. A man of power who leads a project under the name of “Jrada Malha” which consists in conditioning people (their past, their memories, etc) to hold high-ranking positions in order to serve the interests of a group of people. Raniya is part of this experience and her life is nothing more than a scenario which is modified as needed.
Raniya and through her mental strength, finds out about this plot which made her a guinea pig. She discovers an operation and experience center under her house, she discovers that she has been watched since the beginning. Raniya finds a folder that contains all the information about her and her life. She discovers that everyone around her is part of the conspiracy. The nurse, Lâayachi, Omar, Charqi and Hafida. Terrified, Raniya runs away, with no idea where to go.
Raniya calls Halim, the only person she has left and whom she can trust because he is a member of the police forces. Halim picks up Raniya in the middle of the forest and brings her home. She tells him everything and Halim is in total shock as well. She let him in on her secret too and told her that he was aware of such a big project and that he was investigating, but he did not know that she was part of it.
Halim takes the file that Raniya had taken from the operations center and heads to the premises where Driss sits. We discover that Halim is part of the operation and his role was to monitor the progress of the work. Halim yells at Driss for his failure and asks him to move forward to the last stage of the project.
Raniya wakes up in the morning, but she is in another bedroom. A photo of her and Halim married and a baby’s bed at his bedside. At first Raniya doesn’t understand what’s going on. Halim shows up and informs her that it’s the big day that everyone is waiting for. We discover that Raniya was elected president, which means the success of the project and that from the start, she was meant for this position. Except that at the time of the speech, Raniya receives a flash of memory that she is not what they claim, but someone else.
