“I insert myself in my country’s power of love.” The words are those of Haiti-born Montrealer Alain Philoctète; they open Will Prosper’s film against a backdrop of beautiful Haitian landscapes. A film between two countries, two realities, two struggles, united by destiny and the indomitable will of Philoctète - artist, researcher, activist. Driven by this inspiring protagonist, the film documents his return to Haiti, where he hopes to launch a permaculture project. It’s also a chance to talk about his exile and his passion for sharing knowledge. Back in Montreal, the struggle takes on a personal character. Diagnosed with cancer, he follows his dreams with the support of his family and friends. Through him, the filmmaker creates an unforgettable tribute to community spirit. |
