One early morning in August of 2015, Swedish Police receive a call from a person asking to turn themselves in along with three others. The four are members of a newly founded animal rights group called “Empty Cages”, and during the night they’ve broken into a pig farm to liberate two pigs. This is the first of three operations to be carried out by the group during the coming weeks. Framing these acts as civil disobedience, the group attempts to raise a debate about how we treat animals as property. |
