They couldn’t have made a better decision playing war pigs during the trailer. Then you have Ridley directing and the all too loveable Joaquin, how could it go wrong? I love time period films especially depicting war. The wars back then were brutal.
Nice post (but reminder the site isn’t down with links in comments from unapproved sites). Thanks though. It’s good.
its an 7/10 quality cam for me
Napoleon seemed lack luster. There was action but without any punch. Even the storyline felt very vanilla.
It weirds me out when I watch movies like these, many Actors play French Generals/Soliders with a strong British accent, while taking about killing their “enemies”- the British.
Like when Actors with heavy British accents play Nazis in WW2 movies. But maybe it’s just my OCD : )
Directed by Ridley Scott. Starring Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby. Due out November 22nd.
These are TeleSync copies.
EDIT: and now they’re not
Not Ridley Scott’s best work. I’ve always wished we could have seen Kubrick’s interpretation of Napoleon. He studied the man for a large portion of his life.
The only reason I watched this was Joaquin Phoenix and he delivered another masterful performance even though the movie overall was just kind of meh. This appeared to me to be nothing more than a character study of Napoleon and I don’t think the man was all that interesting.
Just watched the trailer and might watch it when it’s released on November 22nd. Of course there have been many movies about Napoleon, maybe Ridley Scott will bring us something a bit different. Will his version be somewhat historically accurate? Will we learn things about Napoleon that we didn’t know before? Since Hollywood has taken a different direction and a lot of movies/tv shows are no longer sugar coated to some extent, unlike the early days of cinema during the early part of the 20th century. I just might watch to see how Scott portrays his version of Napoleon in the 21st century.
Woohoo! Looks like good copies are up.
i get that a movie can’t cover everything… but c’mon. constantly skimping on relevant details, skipping the entire peninsular war… honestly i’m wondering if ridley scott has ever even touched a history book, nevermind read one.
He came from a local noble Corsican family, he couldnt even manage to conuer Western Europe…
