I surprisingly ended up loving this. Probably mostly due to the ending. This is even with the mom getting on my nerves only a couple of times (but she redeemed herself at the end). Made me think of ‘Next’ series at times
I always knew watching Spongebob was evil and corrupting kids!! Great horror came perfect time on Halloween night.
lol
This was a great movie! So far one of the best for 2020! Will for sure watch this again! Larry was pretty sick!
Aww cute show. Family show time. Enjoy!
As the mother of an autistic little boy of the same age as the boy in tue film, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to communicate and relate since they use other means to do so. My sweet boy is very “fluent” in body language and his emotional IQ is through the roof. Speech therapy was only 1 of 4 therapies we do on a biweekly bases. It is also his least favorite and one we’ve seen very little progress. Knowing this must frustrate him to no end being unable to communicate, I understood why he’d resort to temper tantrums. I’ve had meltdowns over something as trivial as a lagging cell phone screen and been known to throw it out of windows. Imagining how his issues must haunt him relentlessly so when he was 2 yrs old, I decided to try American sign language. I learned how to sign words like “hungry” and “more”. Less than a week later, I finally witnessed his first words.. He looked up and signed the word “more” to ask for another cookie. Yes, I burst into tears and clapped and made a big deal of it. I had never been happier! This movie reminded me of all the hard work we’ve put in over the years. While it is a horror movie, it was also so very touching especially the last 15 min. I loved the ending and for me, it was the perfect touch. Other high points is the fact you DO see the creepy monster and it’s not all shadow play and jump scares.. Huge plus! They pulled off a successful thriller without the need to pepper it with crude humor, bad language or nudity. Perfect watch for families with young teens. The only fault for me was that it was too slow in the beginning but if given the chance, it has a highly rewarding payoff.. 4/5 or 7/10
fairly original horror movie worth the watch
You’re not crying, I am.
This was one creepy movie I loved it! well written and very well acted 10/10 for me!
pg13 so ill save my time and pass also the trailer helped me ! watch the imdb thing before watching
I liked it kinda reminded me of Mr bagaduk minus the comedy
Worth a one time watch for sure, definitely sucks when it comes to sound quality!! Don’t think it’s the copy, just the movie itself. It’s super loud in the loud parts and super quite in the talking parts. It’s tolerable though. Thanks for the quick links.
That’s how they seem to make scary anymore, startle viewers with music and loud sounds.
Just saw your reply haha Yeah horror movies aren’t what they used to be. To predictable for me, which sucks!!! It’s my favorite Genre haha
Not bad for an almost-Babadook 2.0. The theme, though presented differently in this film, of a special-needs child and the parent(s) who must soldier on and cope in some unexpected way, is timeless. In The Babadook, the at-her-wit’s-end mom learned to manage things and coexist with the creature, while the mom here simply stepped up and traded her life in order to spare her son’s—-her son who was at long last attempting to speak and to convey his interest in having friends.
I’m not a fan of jump scares; they tend to take me out of the moment…but the ones here were handled fairly effectively. The kid actors were excellent; I especially loved Byron, the little salty friend of the main kid. The not-so-subtle message about our modern addiction to our tech devices is one to heed. I recommend this movie for teens and up; it’ll creep out those that are younger, so be aware.
If the creature just wanted a friend, then why did it attack them?! Anyway the movie was not bad. Was quite scary..
What’s that stuff the kid keeps slapping around in the first scenes? I want some.
