Okay so an update as this new TS was great to watch (give it a go can see and hear everything perfectly). My kids and I sat and watched this last night. I will say. Compared to the one Eddie Murphy stared in this movie was 10/10. But if you compare it with other Disney films based on rides, such as the Pirates movie, this movie fell short.

My kids fell asleep about half way in, which shocked me. But I understand also.

The movie had some funny parts, some cute & loving parts also. But it fell so short. It was very slow paced for a Disney movie. The lead actor (LaKeith Stanfield) … his laugh and crying was horrible. Clearly you could tell they were faked. His acting was just so sub-par. Even with the huge cast of some A list talent such as Danny DeVito, Owen Wilson, Rosario Dawson, Jamie Lee Curtis,Jared Leto, Tiffany Haddish - the movie could not be saved in my opinion.

I tried, I even watched it a second time without the little ones distracting me. It was such a let down, as I really wanted to like this movie. The main actor just killed it for me. He made the movie feel as if it was just there to make a fast buck.

Sadly, I rate this a 2 out of 5 stars. It seem Disney just can’t get this story for this brand right. I think if they would of had someone else as the lead, and edited the story a bit to at the least have more humor it would of been fine.

Up to you if you wish to watch it, everyone is different. I hope others can find this movie not so flat.

I did not know they were going to do a remake. I remember how horrible the one with Eddie was. But this one from the trailer looks to be a fun ride for the whole family.

I am personally going to wait for a better copy, as my 13 and 7 year old can’t see it all that well. Will update once I get to watch it with them. From what I’ve seen though so far, it looks really well made with great actors and have some fun family friendly comedy.

That was so much better than the original version with Eddie Murphy. Anyone else tear up a bit at the name on the cats tags? ❤ 😢
