pretty much the story of some hoe bitching at her husband for picking a less familial way to die in a pseudo-avalanche. He didn’t run towards her to die so she loses her mind and cheats on him after turning his children against him for not using his telekinetic powers to stop the avalanche. I get what they were going for but they should have picked a scenario where he ran where staying would have made an actual difference. Lastly this is not a comedy or a dramady. If there was a crazy hoe movie section this would be on the display for it.
I rarely stop watching a movie before it’s done but I did with this one. Good cast but awful story.
This is underrated. It was actually pretty darn good.
However, it is NOT a comedy. This is not your typical Will Ferrell movie.
It’s a rather serious take on a near death experience & the effects it can have on relationships. ( THAT IS NOT A SPOILER! THE SYNOPSIS ABOVE SAYS THE SAME THING IN OTHER WORDS )

IMDB was generous at 4.5/10 - 3 is more accurate. Could have done so much with those actors. Dreyfus’s character is like nails on a chalk-board…I’d wish for an avi death if married to that overbearing high anxiety narcissist. Ferrell’s character exacerbates it by playing up the beta male with a maturity level of a 14 yr old. I guess to hollywood writers all men are either psycho alphas a la gillette commercial or dickless wonders. I shut it off half way…couldn’t take it anymore.
I only watched this because it has Will & Julia in it. Was written by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, who seem to specialize in “Human stories”. The basic story is that Will Ferrells character seem blase (in different) when the family get hit with a snow storm. The rest of the movie shows his character and his wife (played by the talented (although talent wasted on this one) Julia Louis Dreyfuss, Yes THAT Julia-Elaine from Seinfeld!-The skinny of it, is Julias character has an affair with another man because she feels Wills character is neglecting her, In typical Will Ferrell fashion (again, normally a fan, but both actors fell flat on this one), he jokes about things, and she never confesses. They stay together, but after a LONG 84 minutes, only toward the end of the movie, does he start to show any emotion towards his wife and 2 sons
I think you should look up the meaning of “affair”
