Valle is a young woman on the verge of giving birth. Fear and loneliness in her life drive her to the suburbs in search of her father. During the long trip she only encounters ramshackle villages and memories from her childhood. Valle is determined in her search until a car accident leads her to Ofelia’s home. Ofelia is a hospitable woman in the village who shows a peculiar interest in Valle’s pregnancy. The secrets and mysteries surrounding Ofelia force Valle to escape to the forest, where she finally gives birth to a strain creature. |
