Together with his friend Jorjie Segura, Simon travels around Spain to enter the bloody gladiatorial arena of stand up comedy. A stand up routine, like a bullfight, can have tragic consequences at any given second and, like a bullfight, it is how the comic directs, dodges, and guides the audience that determine success. Simon is determined to be accepted in his birth country as funny. But does he have the balls to succeed? Against a backdrop of family chaos and constant personal challenges, the documentary follows Simon on enlightening journey of emotions, laughter and reconciliation with his roots. |
