Masq is a noir-styled film set in a strictly segregated city. The colored civilians are automatically put in the lower class and have never been given the rights of the white civilians. While segregation laws are firmly set in stone, the law enforcement in town has a hard time keeping up with a group of rebels within their community. Secret gatherings occur late at night where these outsiders, both colored and white, come together in a festivity of laughter, dancing, and tolerance. Their tradition, wearing masquerade masks to help hide their identity if or when the heat comes to shut the parties down and to throw the delinquents into the slammer, or worse. What happens when two people from different sides of town secretly go against the system, even after the party is over? |
