The Offering - Studio Coverage. This script is a gory thriller reminiscent of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Deliverance. The writer builds the tension slowly, using humorous foreshadowing early in the script when Mr. Meakins states, “You wouldn’t believe the sacrifices we’ve made.” The ominous fact that someone barricaded the doors from inside the house ignites the reader’s imagination and the suspense that will eventually crescendo into a full-blown bloodbath at the climax of the script. The writer of this script definitely has a good grasp of the genre and of storytelling. Watch out for the Flesh Marionette. |
