A disturbed man, Bud, who loses his wife, Liz, in childbirth is left with a son, Max. For a time, the love between Max and Bud is enough. However, as years pass, Bud grows more obsessed with the love that he has lost, the love that Max cannot provide him. Hopelessly coddling this obsession, Bud falls out of love with Max and casts his son’s emotions aside. When Bud has a stroke, Max uses the opportunity to kill him. Max then, through his twisted imagination and love for his father, attempts to bring back to life a devoted father.
