Jake’s brother was murdered over an unpaid debt that Jake owed. disowned by his family and unable to live with the guilt Jake attempted suicide. Now having turned his life around and got on the straight and narrow, he lives with his girlfriend and has a steady job, but Jake is plagued by personal demons. He wakes every night from terrible nightmares, seemingly reliving the acts of pure evil he has committed in the past. His girlfriend Elise wants to help and support him but he brushes it aside, downplaying the affect it is having on him. By day he stalks and murders people who are seemingly strangers to him, This erratic behaviour doesn’t go unnoticed by those closest to him shattering any sense of normality he has brought to his new life when his girlfriend walks out on him. His uncle tries to intervene but Jake just tells him what he wants to hear. The next day Jake has a new target, but his victim has a familiar face, Ed, an accomplice from his nightmares. Ed stages a brutal but unsuccessful fight back, forcing Jake to fight for his life, he falls unconscious and has another nightmare, we see his suicide followed by indescribable horrors, Jake wakes to the police at the door and narrowly escapes being caught by the police. He flees for his life and makes his way home collapsing once he’s stepped through the door. Elise returns home to find Jake unconscious, after cleaning him up she demands to know the truth, and this time Jake tells her. |
