This films follows the life and work of acclaimed craft artist, Paulus Berensohn, who hasn’t sold his work in over forty years. Paulus’ early career was on the stage as a dancer, studying with greats Merce Cunningham and Martha Graham and appearing in major Broadway productions. Paulus transformed from dancer to potter when he asked himself ‘How do you dance in life?’ He rapidly established a big reputation and published ‘Finding ones way with Clay’ which is now in it’s 42nd year of production. Paulus no longer sells his work but rather gives it away, donates it to charity or ‘returns it to the earth’. He has been recognized by the Rendwick Alliance of the Smithsonian Institute as a ‘Distinguished American Educator’ |
