When a couple of lovers with tangled hearts finally make love after a fight, fully connecting for the first time, Louis finds out that Valentina will be moving back to Brazil so they’re forced to break up. After two years, Louis receives a call and finds out out she’s back in town but something seemed strange in Valentina’s discourse. We see as the two meet again at a hotel room, where not only a subtextual feeling to stay close exist but also the sense that something is being hidden, not said. Louis, insisting to fix things out, makes his moves but the more he tries the more Valentina’s behavior seems strange, making the orphan slowly raise questions and doubts within himself till the moment when a baby’s cry takes over the silence of the room. Valentina runs to the bathroom while Louis is left full of questions but with one answer: they had a baby the night she left. The baby sleeps and the two finally have a chance to talk again; Valentina explains how her life in a split of second shifted entirely upside down while Louis can’t deal with the bomb just dropped on him. They argue and Louis, moved by fear and confusion, states this baby is not his and leaves after Valentina’s warning saying that, if he left, that would be it. Valentina is left behind with a broken heart while Louis goes mad due his confusion but, after a moment alone, he calms down and thinks stuff out, regretting his decision and going back again. However, everything is changed and now and Louis has to prove that he’s still willing to assemble their life directions for the feeling inside, instead of due the “responsibility” just discovered. |
