Set in 1930s rural Maryland, Flytrap is the story of Mary Blake, a young widow who lives alone on her inherited farm. A corpse-raising plague has plunged the United States into depression. While the rest of the country works towards recovery, Mary isolates herself, unable to cope with her personal losses. When a drifter with a connection to her family arrives at her door, Mary will have to reconsider the value of human connection and the danger of not being able to let go of her past. |
