A group of dedicated volunteers restore the historic Victorian-era Sacramento City cemetery to its former glory by planting ‘old’ roses. These heritage roses, neglected in vacant lots or in the remote, uncared-for cemeteries of the California gold country, are often endangered. The film follows several volunteers on the rose rescue process, known as ‘rose rustling,’ and lavishes much attention on the sensual beauty of the roses thriving in the Sacramento cemetery. The film features music composed for this project by Sacramento-based musician Ross Hammond. |
