The film opens with a girl walking through a forest, looking at a picture of a boy in an army uniform and her. Then the boy appears behind her; they have a snowball fight and roll around in the snow. After that comes a series of short scenes revolving around the couple: them making and frosting gingerbread cookies with their friends, them roasting marshmallows in their friends in a fire pit in their backyard, and them kissing under a homemade mistletoe. After that, it is revealed that the girl is actually just smelling a collection of candles sent to her by her boyfriend. The names of the candles reference the memories depicted by the aforementioned scenes, and her boyfriend sent them to her to remind her of them since he cannot be there with her for Christmas this year.
