A 13 year old school girl is proposed to by a family friend aged 32 for marriage. The confused girl kept avoiding him out of sheer innocence and out of respect, considering him to be a brother. The man kept on torturing her physically and mentally and finally attacked her with corrosive acid with the help of his younger brother’s girlfriend. The girl struggled for justice for many years while seeking medical help for a completely devastated body. She lost her father during this struggle, which heft her with no support. Eventually the girl fought with all these circumstances by herself and joined Stop Acid Attack. She was awarded the ‘Woman of Courage’ by US first Lady Michelle Obama in 2014. This is her story.
