The Hidden River is a half-hour short depicting the 2014 ‘awareness hike’ through rugged physical and emotional landscapes by a conservationist couple whose goal is to educate others on the often misunderstood, and neglected San Diego River…by walking its entire fifty-two mile length from its source in the Cuyamaca Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. With aerial and personal ground viewpoints, and an engaging original score, the viewer is provided with a true context of the river’s beauty… as well as its many problems resulting from the onslaught of change and continual neglect. The Hidden River demonstrates the plight of the San Diego River and its symbolic disconnect of a modern culture from its true Southern California ecology. |
