A short film about an enigmatic Inventor who devotes his life to creating human-sized puppets; after bringing them to life, he finds sinister satisfaction in forcing them to dance for his entertainment. The newest puppet, and protagonist of the film, questions the nature of the rigid world the puppets have been brought into, and he forges a friendship with a girl puppet who believes she is broken because she prefers music from dance. In a feat for freedom from the Inventor’s austere dance regime, the boy puppet breaks out into a wild dance - only to face the punishment that all puppets fear: to be hung back up onto their strings.
