In ‘Electric Light’ a lonely cop is getting lonelier. It combines a parody of the science fiction genre and a persiflage of crime movies. It is a surreal and grotesque postmodern cinematic concept stemming from Teuscher’s experience in the fields of classical short, documentary film, theater, performance and media art. With a simplistic, experimental approach, as well as few resources, this purely independent project was produced, written and directed by Teuscher with the support of a large network of artists, designers, jokers, friends, family and believers. Inspired from Werner Fassbinder, all takes were shot only one time. A shooting day was not longer than 8 hours. There was no storyboard, the sequence plan was created spontaniously on set, in reaction to the behaviors of the actors in the room. The whole movie was primarily recorded in hand-camera shots, usind different camera formats: Mainly 16mm, but also Hi8, Beta SP, miniDV. This mixed media films describes also the transition from our analog to digital world.
