A woman takes on the identity of her brother in order to serve in the ranks during the Civil War. When the war is over she searches for the widow who saved her life during the battle of Antietam. Once she is reunited with this woman she is plagued by nightmares and must confront her demons and reconcile her war experiences in order to liberate herself to feel love fully. The widow must let her go in order to see if love will come back to her. The compassion each has for the other results in a deep and fulfilling intimacy. |
