At the end of the Iraq war in 1988, a blind mother safely welcomes her two estranged daughters to tell them a secret in the presence of their nanny. Unfortunately, the mother accidentally dies while professing the secret. During the funeral, the daughters try to come to terms with the sudden demise while at the same time, they work together to unveil her secret by looking for clues from visitors who arrive to pay their respect, ones who are complete strangers to them, including her ex female lovers, to the shock of the family. Throughout, their own lives continue to unravel, giving room for buried family tensions to gradually surface while struggling to deal with their own secrets and deep-rooted guilt. Despite the nanny’s efforts to keep the secret hidden, a secret she herself is oblivious to, the daughters however start to question for the first time whether their mother was really blind.
