Mike is a disillusioned FBI agent looking for greener pastures, both personally and professionally. He has remained a wallflower most of his career, working largely on low priority cases. That is until one night when a twist of fate puts him on stakeout to catch one of the most sought after drug dealers in San Francisco. During the stakeout something goes terribly wrong, and a failed attempted escape by the criminal coupled with dumb luck put Mike in the spotlight, making him the hero of the FBI’s northern California office. Along with the fame for being the one agent able to catch the long sought after drug dealer, Mike is promoted to head of the LA office. He accepts it immediately without discussing the move with his wife Claudia. This just opens the door wider to the many problems their marriage is suffering from. Once in LA, Mike assumes his leadership role of the department and is assigned a partner, Brent Clarke-who is bitter because it was his time to be head of the department. immediately there are ego’s and resentment as they try to work together to dig deeper into the LA drug problem. A piece of evidence exposes the truth that the bust Mike made in San Francisco was only the tip of the iceberg. The dealer has a strong operation in LA. Mike and Brent put their differences aside to find the source of the drug trade, a guy simply known as “The Boss”. Soon Brent disappears and Mike is forced to go undercover deep into the world of “The Boss” to stop the drug lord at all cost and to find his missing partner. Enter Derek a low-level drug dealer looking for a better way, he just wants to take care of his daughter.
