For Nick, life as a dedicated bachelor seems less fun as he nears his forties… By day, he dispenses alternative relationship advice in his irreverent little newspaper column. Yet he wakes up every morning less like a sexual conqueror, and more like the owner of a free-rent bed-and-breakfast. Things have gotten so bad, he’s actually looked up his ex-girlfriend from college. She’s now a single mother, soon to be engaged to an absentee businessman, while Nick plays house with her— becoming a surprising father figure for her son. Nick’s last friend is about to have her plans complicated by his reemergence in her life.
