Details:

In 2001, residents of Kodaikanal, a picturesque south Indian hill town, found that Unilever had recklessly dumped toxic wastes from it’s thermometer factory in the town and nearby forests. 45 workers and several children have died so far. Unilever with an annual budget of $8 billion for advertising has done nothing to clean up it’s contamination or help it’s workers and their families. Popular media refused to take up this issue. In 2015 Rathindran Prasad came up with an idea of making a protest music video and launching it on Youtube. The video instantly became a major viral when pop star Nicki Minaj tweeted about it.
