As Beth waits for the results of her pregnancy test, her mind wanders to a fanciful world where women, instead of giving birth like humans, hatch eggs that they carry tucked under their arms for nine months. As her mind jumps from scenario to scenario we see everything from what life would have been like back in her grandmother’s day: cheerfully barefoot and ‘egg-nant’ in the kitchen, to modern women toting their eggs to yoga classes, business meetings, check-ups with their OBG-EGG’s and even to ‘nest-ing shower’ celebrations. Through lighthearted comedy, ‘Hatched: a Tale of Great Egg-spectations’ serves as a reflection of what it means to be on the verge of something new and different. |
