A short documentary about the area of Los Angeles called 5th Street Skid-Row. Impressions (images and sounds) of one morning in an area of Los Angeles that has the highest concentration of homeless as well as Evangelic Services. Some churches give out food, some give Bibles, and some give balloons. My goal was to not film faces (people living on the street here are very sensitive to being filmed) but focus on the street. Contrasting the hard reality of the street (feet, crutches, wheelchairs, trash, heat) with the notion of uplift, levity or escape inspired by balloons. |
