Details:

Elisa is an eighteen-year old girl who lives with her father since her mother passed away 14 years ago. Her father, following a breakdown after losing his wife, fears losing Elisa also so decides to keep her locked up in her bedroom away from the outside world. Elisa’s days are a mixture of love and hate for her father. Although she loves him deeply his sometimes erratic and psychotic behavior makes it hard for her to understand the reality of their situation. The film starts on Elisa’s 18th birthday and follows her over four days. Between the second and third day her father dies of a heart attack while watching TV. Over these two days we see Elisa becomes more and more agitated and hungry. Finally she decides to try and open the door and after some time, using a necklace her mother gave to her, she manages to pick the lock. We follow Elisa from room to room as she makes her way around the house until she finds her father in the living room. Initially she is unaware that he is dead and try to converse with him. Finally it dawns on her that her father dead. Engulfed by fear and remorse we see Elisa breakdown in floods of tears and horror. Afraid and confused she finds her way outside of the house and walks around aimlessly for hours. Tired and cold she can walk no further and takes refuge next to a statue in a cemetery. A young man approaches her asking if she is fine. Reluctantly she enters into a conversation with him. They talk for a while, she feels safe and comfortable in his company, so when he asks her to come with him for a coffee she agrees. They go to the coffee shop, sit down and talk about their lives. It feels like they have known each other for years and not minutes. We see Jason take Elisa’s hand and promise to help her. Elisa follows Jason after he promises to help her. They go to Jason’s house where he suggests that she changes into something more comfortable while he makes them tea. After Elisa changes she finds a scrapbook on the bedside locker and starts to read it. It has gory newspaper clippings of his mother’s death and other random murders. Elisa breaks a glass which alerts Jason who then enters the bedroom. He realizes she has read the book and thus shows his real intentions. He attacks her from behind closed doors and all we hear is eerie music and screams for help.
