Scratching the Surface is a story about a young First Nations boy being kept in a residential school who longs to return to the freedom of his childhood. Danny (Shon Burnett) dreams of returning to his roots and resuming his previous way of life, away from the strict rules of the residential school and the head priest (Joe Fulgham) who looms over him. With a determined heart and mind he struggles to regain freedom, though the priests will stop at nothing to make him fail. |
