Protector Of The Kingdom is an independent short film, and is the second offering from Mid-life Crisis Films. Adapted for screen for her ten minute play by the same name, screenwriter Caroline V. McGraw carefully and poignantly crafts depth into he lives of sixteen year old misguided youth Gladis and her fathers new wife Rini, as they wade through the mire of their contentious relationship. Director Kelly DiMauro maintains a raw feel to the film that one might have if they were hiding in a closet watching the story unfold. But it is the performances of Josi Kulp and Gladis and Mariah Sage as Rini, and the chemistry between them that compels the viewer to watch the train wreck as the characters collide. |
