Details:

Big Burn is about the largest naturally caused wildfire in Colorado history. The West Fork Fire Complex burned 109,000 acres in the San Juan and Rio Grande National forests in June and July of 2013. It examines environmental conditions like drought and beetle kill that exist throughout the state and led to its spread. It includes first hand accounts and videos from people caught in the fire and looks at the impact these annual outbreaks have on tourist towns struggling to eek out a living downwind from these enormous fast moving fires. The movie specifically focuses on residents of Creede, Colorado. It’s a story about a resilient small town that stood in front of a large fire and refused to give up.
