On the way home from a late night at the elementary school where she works, Haley Grant crashes into a car driven by a psychotic killer. The impact exposes his latest victim, which the killer beats to death in front of Haley’s eyes. Haley narrowly escapes the victim’s fate as first responders arrive just in time to scare away the killer. But the concussion from the accident leaves Haley in a very fragile state - her vision is blurred and she is hyper sensitive to light. The killer manages to track her down and, after disposing the police assigned to protect her, engages in his own blood-lust. Without the full use of her vision, Haley’s only choice is to draw him where at least she has a standing chance - into the Pitch Black.
