Details:

In November 2015, filmmaker Kristian Lupinski and PhD scholar Katarzyna Wojtylak went to the Amazon region of Colombia. Katarzyna works on documenting the Murui language. Kristian, as requested by the Murui, came to make a film about their way of life. The Murui also wanted to learn how to make their own films. Over 3 months, Kristian demonstrated the foundations of filmmaking. A group of Murui from a small community Tercera India learned everything from writing, story-boarding, directing, filming, editing and exporting. Most of the participants have never used a camcorder or a computer before. In this short film, Lucio ‘Choma’ Agga Botyay, one of the Murui filmmakers, discusses the importance of documentation of his people’s disappearing traditions, language and way of life.
