An ice cream on a cloudy day, a revolution in the alleyways, funking footballers and a chicken shop tea dance are just a few of the magical moments made and found by diverse groups of dancers living in east London. Over a period of six months, eight east London based artists worked with young people and elders in Tower Hamlets to create short moving postcards of their area. The result is series of nine films re-imagining and revealing histories and every-day passions. Postcards from east London is the second in an ongoing international dance film project created by Jo Parkes (MobileDance). |
