Homecoming, a split-3-screen video, although a narrative, also explores Jungian ideas of integrating archetypes within the individual psyche: a soldier comes home from Iraq to her girlfriend. The left screen represents the girl, the right, the soldier. In the middle they combine. This piece is sexual and deals with longing, memory, a moment, desire, pain, joy, transformation through the body, and return. It is political, by its representation. |
