Mike Bouchet’s ‘swimming house’ for the 53rd Venice Biennial in 2009 attracted some attention, last but not least by sinking spectacularly at the Biennial premises. The film tells the story of this prefabricate American house from the beginning of construction works up to the sinking and the following salvaging. It also delivers a short overview of Mike Bouchet’s Frankfurt exhibition at the Schirn museum, where the remains of the house were showcased from June 2010 on. The film is not a classical artist documentary, because it also focuses on the workers who built the house. Additionally, it is the story of a great adventure that thrilled and moved all involved throughout its duration. |
