Against a collage of sampled news media reports from February 2010, and digitally animated images, which paint a very grim picture of the world today, a group of Australian and South African primary school children optimistically say how the world will be when they grow up. It is now left to adult audiences around the world to change their ways and make this a reality. When I Grow Up is a post post-modernist art video eclectic by nature borrowing from the genreās of contemporary film, electronic media, painting and sound production to tease and play with the viewers emotions in a manner not common in contemporary art. This art video with a message is created through a collage of digital painted vision segments and sampled sounds. |
