An English family is lost in a remote region of Spain. After driving all night, BRAD, his wife ANNIE & their precocious daughter KATY are tired & irritable. Brad & Katy are arguing when they find an isolated bar. Still sleepy, Annie stays in the car as Brad & Katy go for breakfast. Meddlesome, middle-aged EULALIA & barman, MARIANO fall silent as the foreigners enter. Suspicious & parochial, the locals speak no English. The quarrelling tourists speak no Spanish. The girl’s apparent distress and man’s obvious discomfort soon fire Eulalia’s vivid imagination. Inspired by lurid magazine stories, she draws outrageous conclusions about the tourists & persuades Mariano that the young girl is in mortal danger. Mariano calls thug-like RODOLFO to help rescue the girl & teach her abductor a lesson.
