‘Case File: The Smell of Lorne’ focuses on two thirty-ish people, Lorne and Lorna, trying to figure out how they’re supposed to overcome their fears and accept their love-ability. We follow our heroes from their meeting at a dry cleaners through their first dates colored by Lorne’s obsession with smelling good and finally to the stinky house fire that threatens to ruin their one-month anniversary and possibly the whole relationship. The film is driven by superb characters (acted to perfection) who bust our guts and pluck our heart strings in alternate frames with their brutally real insecurities and whimsicalities. |
